Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate ahead of the summer transfer window.
The French international is expected to join the Spanish club after his contract at Liverpool expires. Reports indicate that Konate has already agreed to a four-year deal with the La Liga side.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Real Madrid are confident of completing the move. The club sees Konate as an important defensive addition for the future.

Konate’s future at Liverpool has been uncertain for several months. Contract talks between the defender and the club reportedly broke down after both sides failed to agree on new terms.
The 27-year-old is now preparing for a new chapter away from Anfield.

He joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig and quickly became a key player in the team’s defence. During his time at the club, he won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and FA Community Shield.
He also made more than 180 appearances across all competitions.
Real Madrid believe Konate’s experience and strength will improve their defensive options. The move would also reunite him with former Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold recently completed his own move to Spain.
Konate has previously been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, but the French club has not made a serious move. Real Madrid remain the favourites to sign him.

Before his expected departure, Konate thanked Liverpool fans for their support.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. I love you all and will carry Liverpool with me wherever I go. This isn’t an easy goodbye, but it’s time for a new challenge and a new chapter,” he said.
If completed, the transfer could become one of the biggest free-agent moves of the summer.
