BREAKING: Veteran Actor and Playwright Alex Mukulu Dies at 72

Veteran Ugandan actor, playwright and author Alex Mukulu has died at the age of 72.

Mukulu died on Saturday afternoon, August 15, 2026, according to reports from Ugandan media.

He was one of Uganda’s most respected figures in theatre and entertainment, having spent decades contributing to the country’s performing arts industry.

Mukulu was known for acclaimed productions including 30 Years of Bananas, Wounds of Africa and The Guest of Honour.
