Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone’s son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, has been arrested in Minnesota, United States, over an alleged domestic assault, just hours after publicly announcing the end of his relationship with his pregnant girlfriend.
Mayanja, 20, was booked by Edina Police on August 14, 2026, on a misdemeanour domestic assault allegation, according to booking information published by Minneapolis Safety and Crime Alerts.
His bail or bond was listed at $10,000.
Arrest Comes After Public Break-Up
The arrest came shortly after Abba took to his verified Instagram account to announce that he had ended his relationship with his girlfriend.
In a series of posts, the 20-year-old accused his former partner of being abusive and said she had repeatedly provoked him during their relationship.
He also suggested that some of his actions were retaliation for what he described as problems within the relationship.
However, Abba did not provide details about the specific incident that later led to his arrest.

It is also unclear from the available booking information whether his former girlfriend was the complainant in the case.
The Couple Were Expecting Their First Child
The latest development comes just months after Abba Marcus and his girlfriend, identified in Ugandan entertainment reports as Angel, announced that they were expecting their first child.
The couple revealed the pregnancy in April, with reports indicating that Angel was around 19 weeks pregnant at the time.
They had also shared videos and photos of themselves on social media, including footage showing Angel’s growing baby bump.
The pregnancy attracted attention in Uganda because it would make veteran musician Jose Chameleone a grandfather for the first time.
Abba Builds His Own Public Profile
Abba Marcus Mayanja is the eldest son of Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim.
He has increasingly built a public profile of his own through social media, where he has occasionally shared details about his family, relationships, and life in the United States.
His parents have five children together, and their marriage has faced highly publicised difficulties over the years.
The latest incident has now put Abba’s personal life back in the spotlight as questions remain about what exactly happened before his arrest.
The domestic assault charge remains an allegation, and Abba Marcus has not been convicted of the offence. Further details may emerge as the case progresses.
