King Saha Lights Up Kololo as Tondeka Ekololo Festival Draws Massive Crowd

King Saha delivered a memorable night at Kololo Independence Grounds on Friday, August 14, as thousands of music lovers turned up for his much-anticipated Tondeka Ekololo Festival.

The concert attracted a huge audience, with fans arriving from different parts of Kampala and beyond to support the singer and enjoy a night of Ugandan music.

By the time the concert gained momentum, large sections of the Kololo grounds were filled with excited fans.

Photos and videos from the event showed a sea of people enjoying performances, singing along to familiar songs and waiting for King Saha to take the stage.

Some fans reportedly remained around the entrance as the venue became increasingly crowded.

Although the exact number of people who attended had not been officially released, the turnout was enough to place the concert among the major music events held at Kololo this year.

King Saha Takes the Stage

When the Kings Love Empire singer eventually appeared, the atmosphere changed immediately.

Fans welcomed him with loud cheers and sang along as he performed some of his popular songs, including Pretty Pretty and Signal.

Saha’s performance kept the crowd engaged, with the singer returning to the stage later in the night for another session.

The event also featured several supporting artistes and performers, giving fans a variety of entertainment before and during the main show.

Pastor Wilson Bugembe was among the guests who joined the celebrations.

Concert Comes After Detention

The success of the festival came only days after an incident that had raised questions about whether the concert would go ahead as planned.

On August 11, Saha was briefly detained following an incident involving members of his team in Kyanja.

Reports indicated that some members of his team were injured during the incident and later received medical attention at Mulago Hospital.

Saha was taken to Jinja Road Police Station before he was released.

Despite the incident, preparations for Tondeka Ekololo continued, with the singer and his supporters maintaining focus on the concert.

A Strong Night for Ugandan Music

The event also attracted support from prominent Ugandans, including opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, who encouraged his supporters to attend.

The large turnout has now added Saha’s name to the growing list of Ugandan artistes who have successfully attracted major crowds at Kololo.

Ray G also drew a significant audience at the venue during his August 7 concert, while other established Ugandan artistes have previously staged major shows there.

Without official attendance figures, it is difficult to determine which artiste attracted the largest crowd.

What is clear, however, is that Tondeka Ekololo gave King Saha a major moment in his career, turning a week that began with controversy into a night of music, celebration and strong support from his fans.
