Engineer Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo has been officially installed as the Kampala Lord Mayor during a swearing-in ceremony held at City Hall.
The event marks the formal handover of the capital’s top political office.
The ceremony was presided over by senior officials from the Kampala Capital City Authority. The Executive Director formally confirmed his assumption of office and handed over key instruments of authority, including the Lord Mayor’s seal.
The event attracted KCCA leadership, city officials, and invited guests who witnessed the transition of power in Kampala’s administration.

The installation marks the end of the previous leadership under former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and ushers in a new five-year term.
Balimwezo, in his first remarks after taking the oath, highlighted flooding, road congestion, and waste management as key priorities for the capital.
The ceremony ended at City Hall amid tight security, while supporters gathered outside to celebrate the start of his tenure.
