KAMPALA — Security agencies have confirmed the recovery of all six laptops stolen from the Bank of Uganda offices along Kampala Road, following intensified investigations into a break-in that occurred on 3 May 2026.
Police say the incident prompted a swift response after it was discovered that unknown individuals had accessed the premises during the night and stolen six office laptops.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police said the first phase of investigations led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of two laptops.
Further operations later resulted in two more arrests and the recovery of the remaining four laptops.

This brings the total to four suspects in custody, with all six stolen laptops successfully recovered.
The suspects have been identified as Kule Boaz Micheal, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo, and Oedo Jorem Jude.

Authorities say all six laptops are now secured as exhibits as prosecutors prepare to present the suspects before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on 20 May 2026.
They will face charges including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property as investigations continue to determine whether the group operated as part of a wider criminal network targeting government institutions.
