Luuka, 21st May, 2026 — Police in Luuka District have opened investigations into the sudden death of a 50-year-old man who reportedly collapsed during an alleged sexual encounter in Bukooma sub-county.
The deceased has been identified as Simon Kalamu, a resident of Namulanda B Village in Namulanda Parish, according to authorities.
Busoga North Police spokesperson SP Samson Lubega said the incident happened on Monday night at around 9pm.
Preliminary reports indicate that Kalamu and a 40-year-old woman, believed to be from the same area, allegedly moved to a nearby bush before engaging in a sexual act.
Police say the man reportedly collapsed moments later during the encounter, prompting the woman to raise an alarm that attracted nearby residents.

Area leaders and local residents later informed police about the incident.
One resident, who preferred anonymity, claimed Kalamu was known for consuming energy drinks and local herbal substances.
“He frequently took energy drinks and herbs, and he was involved in several relationships. People suspect he may have suffered a heart-related complication,” the resident claimed.

Police, however, said investigations are still ongoing to establish the exact cause of death.
The body was taken for postmortem examination as detectives continue gathering statements from witnesses.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information as investigations continue.
