Tororo District, the police have shot and killed a 26-year-old man identified as Godfrey Odoi for allegedly attacking and injuring a police officer on duty.
However, Odoi, a resident of Poti Cell in Iyolwa Town Council, was involved in a confrontation with Francis Musamali, the officer in charge of the Iyolwa police post in the eastern district, on Tuesday.
After injuring the OC, Odoi attempted to flee but was apprehended by locals. During the apprehension, he allegedly tried to harm the OC again, prompting the police to intervene. In an attempt to disarm him, the officer shot Odoi in the leg.
