Popular Ugandan journalist Mildred Tuhaise is reportedly preparing to leave Next Media after nearly a decade at NBS TV.
Reports circulating online claim Tuhaise submitted her resignation earlier this month. Sources say her exit from the media house could happen before the end of May.
Mildred joined NBS TV in 2015 after leaving WBS TV. She later became one of the station’s most recognizable television personalities.
Over the years, she appeared on several popular programs, including People & Power, Morning Breeze, and the 4PM news bulletin.

Reduced TV Appearances Spark Speculation
In recent weeks, viewers noticed that Tuhaise’s appearances on television had reduced. This sparked fresh speculation about her future at the station.
The discussions grew stronger after journalist Tracy Kansiime reportedly handled several major assignments recently. These included election night coverage and broadcasts linked to the security raid on former Speaker Anita Among’s properties.

Media Industry Reacts
Mildred Tuhaise is widely respected in Uganda’s media industry. Many young female journalists have often described her as an inspiration in broadcast journalism.
Away from television, Tuhaise has also been active on social media promoting her private business ventures.
In April, the journalist posted a lengthy appreciation message thanking Next Media for helping her grow in journalism. The post further fueled rumors about her possible departure from the station.
By the time of publication, Next Media had not yet officially commented on the reports surrounding Tuhaise’s alleged exit.
