Naguru-based media house NBS TV decided to honor one of its longest-serving and most loyal employees, Rukh-Shana Namuyimba Kitaka, as she bade farewell to the company. Rukh-Shana has been presenting the 9 p.m. English news bulletin.
“This weekend, I bid farewell to an incredible chapter of eight fulfilling years at Next Media and nearly two decades in the news anchoring arena. I’m grateful for the experiences and relationships cultivated during this journey.”.
However, after 8 years with Next Media Services, she has decided to close the chapter. Taking to her social media, she revealed that she was closing this chapter of news anchoring altogether, having spent nearly two decades in the field.

Additionally, she revealed that this area has shaped and transitioned her into a very professionally mature individual. This has largely been due to collaborating with a diverse and talented group of people.
Furthermore, she said that she’s going to be transitioning to a full-time role going forward. Still, this will be in the media. Going ahead, Rukh-Shana said, “This shift is more than just a career change; it’s an invitation to step out of my comfort zone and showcase the person I’ve become through the ages.”
Apparently, the news anchor was among the exodus of presenters who were poached by NBS from rival station NTV. For her, she moved on in 2015. Meanwhile, she got married two years ago to a Ugandan diaspora gentleman known as Felix Kitaka.
In conclusion, a lot of people came to wish her success in the next chapter and thank her for the services rendered to the country. Among these were former FDC president Dr. Kiiza Besigye and Next Media Services boss Kin Karisa. She was indeed saying farewell at the station after a very emotional journey.
