News reaching our media team confirms that Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) has announced the return of the highly anticipated Kampala City Festival.
However, this exciting news was announced to the public by the newly appointed KCCA Executive Director, Buzaki Sharifah, who revealed that the grand opening launch and the festival date will be unveiled on 6th August 2025 at City Hall.
According to Buzaki, the festival will not only be an event but also a platform used to honor the innovation, culture, creativity, and community spirit that defines Kampala City.

Buzaki told our media team that “It is not just about fun. It’s about coming together as a city, recognizing how far we’ve come, and renewing our collective commitment to building a cleaner and more liveable Kampala.”
Furthermore, it’s remembered that the Kampala City Festival was introduced by ex-ED Jenifer Musisi; the festival was deemed to be one of the biggest street festivals in East Africa but was later cancelled in 2018.
The festival will not only be an event but also a platform used to honor the innovation, culture, creativity, and community spirit that defines Kampala City.
In conclusion, this event unites a large number of people across the city to come to network and celebrate the goodness of their city.
