UCU Elections: Two Nominated for Guild Presidency
UCU Elections as two promising candidates vie for the Guild Presidency. Get the latest updates on their campaigns and vision
The electoral commission at Uganda Christian University (UCU) has confirmed candidates to contest for various posts on the Students’ Guild.
According to UCU’s electoral roadmap, campaigns have already kicked off after a successful joint selection board vetting and declaration of successful candidates. The attached list of all nominated candidates and the detailed roadmap is as shown below:
Among these, two students have been granted the nod to face off for the top seat: Guild President. However, Agira Birungi and Emmanuel Gerald Abura are already on the ground to pave their way as the 26th Guild President of UCU.
A virtual presidential debate is expected to take place next week, on November 13. This will help showcase some of the candidates’ potential to the voters.
The electoral commission picked November 14, 2023, as the D-day for this year’s elections.
- In conclusion, it is important to note that other leadership positions will be voted for on a similar date with the subsequent declaration of successful candidates. Additionally, all elected students will be sworn in on November 21, 2023.
