Kampala — Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the recent break-in at the Bank of Uganda headquarters in Kampala, as investigations into the incident continue.
The suspects have been identified as Boaz Michael, 19, and Kabuye Ramadan, both residents of Nsambya Zone C in Kampala.
According to police, the two were arrested following ongoing investigations into the burglary that recently targeted offices at the country’s central bank.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke confirmed the arrests and said detectives are continuing with inquiries to establish whether more individuals were involved in the operation.
Investigators say unknown individuals allegedly broke into offices at the Bank of Uganda and stole several items, including laptops and other electronic equipment, raising concerns over security at one of Uganda’s most important institutions.

Police have not yet disclosed the total value of the stolen items, but officials say efforts to recover the equipment are ongoing.

The incident has generated widespread public discussion, with many Ugandans questioning how criminals managed to infiltrate the central bank despite tight security arrangements.
Security agencies have assured the public that investigations are progressing and that anyone connected to the break-in will be brought before the courts.
