Police in Buikwe District have launched investigations after a female night dancer, locally known as an “omusezi,” reported that she was raped by unknown individuals during the night.
According to preliminary information, the incident allegedly occurred in the early hours of the morning after the woman had finished work at a nearby entertainment venue. Reports indicate that the victim was on her way home when she was attacked by suspected assailants along a dark section of the road.
Residents in the area say they heard cries for help before discovering the woman in distress. She was later rushed to a nearby health facility where she received medical attention and examination.
Authorities from the Uganda Police Force confirmed that a case of alleged rape has been registered and investigations are currently underway to identify and arrest those responsible. Police officers have since visited the scene to gather evidence and record statements from potential witnesses.

Local leaders condemned the incident and called for improved security in the area, especially during the night when many workers return home from entertainment venues and other businesses.
Police have urged members of the public with any information related to the case to come forward as investigations continue.
