Mubende, Uganda — Police and military intelligence have successfully arrested a suspect in the abduction and murder of a four-year-old boy in Nalutete Village. The child, Kazungu Daniel, was kidnapped from his home after his family was unable to pay the full Shs 6 million ransom demanded by the criminals.
Authorities say the boy had been killed and his body disposed of in a pit latrine before the family delivered the partial ransom of Shs 1 million. The arrested suspect, Emmanuel Muwanguzi, has confessed to the crime and is now in police custody.
The boy’s body has been taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital for post-mortem examination, and police are continuing investigations to ensure all accomplices are brought to justice.
