The New York Knicks have signed Duane Washington Jr., who played for the Phoenix Suns last season.

On Wednesday evening, the New York Knicks are hosting Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden for their first game of the 2023–24 NBA season.

With the offseason coming to a close, the team has finalized its roster by signing Duane Washington Jr. to a two-way deal on Tuesday afternoon.

This past year, Washington Jr. played 31 regular season games for the Phoenix Suns and averaged 7.9 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 36.7% from the field and 36.0% from the three-point range.

Washington Jr. played three seasons of college basketball for Ohio State and went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft.

However, he has played two seasons in the league for the Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns.

Via Knicks PR: “The New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed guard Duane Washington Jr. to a two-way contract.”

Apparently, his career averages are 9.1 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest, while he shoots 39.1% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range in 79 regular-season games.

In conclusion, the 23-year-old has proven he is a capable shooter and scorer at the NBA level, so Washington Jr. has the chance to be a solid addition to the Knicks’ bench.
