Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has endorsed the former leader of the opposition in parliament, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, for the presidency.
General Muhoozi wrote that “This gentleman is presidential material.” He is an impressive politician” with a photo of Mpuuga. Mpuuga was an ally of Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), for a couple of years before they fell out.
It should be noted that Mpuuga recently launched his own pressure group known as the Democratic Alliance. This, he said, will eventually morph into a political party.
Furthermore, he hinted at the party fielding a presidential candidate and MPs in the forthcoming general elections. It’s not clear whether Mpuuga will risk his parliamentary seat to go for the bigger office, but Muhoozi already sees a president in him.
The Nyendo-Mukungwe MP was eventually forced out of the party and decided to form his own. Since then he’s been going forth with his former bosses in verbal attacks against one another.
It should be noted that Muhoozi is known for tweeting a lot of incoherent things. He has once threatened Kenya and said his army can bring down the country in just two weeks.
In conclusion, it’s not clear how Mpuuga will perceive this compliment from Muhoozi. However, NUP supporters have already given their opinions. They said that they always knew the parliamentary commissioner was a snake and that’s why Bobi Wine fired him.
