News reaching our platform confirms that Martin Zubimendi is set to leave Real Sociedad and join Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners prepared to trigger a €60 million release clause to acquire the services of the midfielder.
The same sources inform that the Gunners already have an agreement in place for a long-term deal with Zubimendi, who is set to bid farewell to boyhood club Real Sociedad after almost a decade between the youth ranks and the senior team.
However, he is destined to land in North London this summer after it was reported by Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto that Arsenal are prepared to trigger a €60 million release clause to acquire the services of the Spain international.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old is set to follow in the footsteps of fellow midfielders Martin Odegaard and, more recently, Mikel Merino, who have both made the switch from the Basque side to the English capital.
Zubimendi was long regarded as a Real Madrid target, with Man City also in the race. However, after months of speculation, it seems he has chosen to join Mikel Arteta’s side to complete the midfield department and fight to end their trophy drought.

In conclusion, Arsenal’s genuine interest in Zubimendi was first revealed in the winter transfer window, and there was heavy speculation the deal was practically complete.
