OFFICIAL: Chelsea Sign Mamadou Sarr From Strasbourg

Chelsea has officially completed the signing of Mamadou Sarr from French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg, with the promising defender committing to a contract running until 2033.

However, Sarr, who is 19 years old, was a key figure for Strasbourg throughout the 2024/25 season, playing a pivotal role as the team earned qualification for European competition next term.

The French center-back enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1 during the 2024/25 season, making 28 appearances in all competitions. His performances helped the club claim seventh place in the league and earn a spot in the UEFA Conference League play-off round.

Sarr, a France Under-20 international, began his development at RC Lens before moving to Lyon, where he progressed through the youth ranks and made his senior debut towards the end of the 2022/23 season.

After a brief spell in the first team, he gained further experience on loan at Belgian side RWD Molenbeek. He joined Strasbourg in August 2024 and swiftly became a regular starter, impressing with his composure and maturity in defense despite his age.

In conclusion, his move to Chelsea becomes the latest addition to Chelsea’s long-term project focused on developing young talent.
