Besigye is the Source of all FDC Problems—Amuriat
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president, Engineer Patrick Amuriat Oboi, has accused the former party president and founding member, Dr. Kizza Besigye, of being a power-hungry person and the source of all trouble in FDC.
Amuriat said that it’s sad to see that one of the founding members is behind the chaos that is in the once strong opposition party, and they will not allow their party to be taken by anybody, no matter their political size or weight.
Amuriat made these revelations during the press conference held at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, on August 22, 2024.

Amuriat told uncoveredug news reporters that “he is the source of all this trouble, and whoever doesn’t agree with him will fall out, and Dr. Kizza Besigye has surrounded himself with funny characters, and he always wants to be in charge.”.
Amuriat’s remarks came after the FDC Katonga faction held a National Delegate Conference at Katonga Road on August 19, 2024, and the majority members in attendance resolved that they dissolve the current FDC party and start a new political party with the interim leadership of Erias Lukwago, the Kampala mayor, as the new Party President.
“There is a big problem with the 1986 group, who behave the same as President Museveni and Dr. Kizza Besigye. President Museveni has never dreamt of life after the presidency; it’s worse for our brother Besigye, who believes nobody can serve better than him,” Amuriat added.
