Gerald Mayanja, the father of the Mayanja singing brothers, Dr. Jose Chameleone, Weasel, and Pallaso, has revealed how he wants to dig his own grave. Speaking to a local media outlet, he said that it won’t take him more than a year before he embarks on this journey.

However, this is not to instill fear in those around him but rather to appreciate God for how far he’s made him live. He’s no longer afraid of death now, and whether people like it or not, he will have to die.

Mayanja told uncoveredug news reporters that “I want to prepare my own resting ground. I’m so grateful to God for the years he has blessed me with to live, and I no longer fear death because, like it or not, I have to die. So it will be soul-satisfying that I prepare my own resting eternal home. This is an idea I got from my late friend Besweli Mulondo. He took me, and we toured the grave he had built himself. When he died, they just put him in and sealed it off.”.

Currently, he’s at the Uganda Cancer Institute, where he’s receiving treatment. It’s hard for the family to see him since they are not allowed there.

He said all this as the family commemorated nine years since the death of his youngest son, Emmanuel Mayanja, aka AK-47. This happened under unclear circumstances at a bar in Kabalagala.

In conclusion, Mzee Mayanja also spoke about another tragedy in the family. This is with his eldest son, Humphrey Mayanja. He has cancer, and the family recalled him from the US, where he had been living.
