Alejandro Balde signs a new contract extension with Barcelona, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2028.

The 19-year-old Spanish fullback will put pen to paper on Thursday to officially seal his stay at the club for the next five years.

His impressive performances so far for the senior team have secured him a contract renewal with the Spanish giants.

Both parties involving the player and the club’s agents have reached an agreement that will keep Balde at Barcelona through June 2028.

Barcelona includes a €1 billion buyout clause in the new contract with the intent of keeping away interests from the young player in the future.

With the new contract extension,Balde secures his position as the left back on the first team. Additionally, Balde was in action for Barcelona’s first match of the 2023–24 Champions League season yesterday evening.

However, coming to Barcelona in 2011, at an early age of 8, Alejandro quickly evolved through the age categories of Barcelona FC youth teams.

During the 2020–21 season, Balde made his first appearance for the first team, making his official debut in a friendly pre-season match against Nastic de Tarragona.

Balde’s entrance into the senior team in 2021 paved the way for the recognition of his talent, and he became a key player for the Xavi Hernandez side last season as they won their first LA Liga title in four years.

He made 44 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona during the 2022–23 season, with seven assists and a goal from left back.

In conclusion, FC Barcelona and Alejandro Balde have reached an agreement for a new contract that will take the player through June 30, 2028.
