Kampala, September 2, 2026 — The City Magistrates Court has remanded socialite Christian Asiimwe, commonly known as Don Chris, to Luzira Prison over 127 charges of obtaining money by false pretence from job seekers.

Don Chris appeared before Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu on Wednesday afternoon, where the prosecution charges were read to him.

The charges were contained in seven separate charge sheets, with each sheet carrying details of about 20 complainants who allegedly lost money to the accused.

Prosecution alleges that between 2022 and 2025, Don Chris obtained millions of shillings from hundreds of job seekers after falsely representing that he could secure them employment abroad.
