27-Year-Old Arrested After Failed Robbery Attempt in Najeera

Police in the Kampala metropolitan area have arrested a man suspected of attempting to rob a resident in Najeera.

The suspect, identified as Hussein Wagaba, 27, from Kayunga in Wakiso District, was arrested on Friday, March 6, 2026.

According to KMP Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Wagaba was intercepted following a quick response by security personnel after reports of the attempted robbery.

Owoyesigyire said the suspect is currently detained as police continue gathering evidence to support possible charges.

He added that police are intensifying operations to curb rising cases of robbery and related crimes within the Kampala metropolitan area.
