Tom Magambo Contract Extended As CID Boss For Two Years

Tom Magambo Contract as the Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has been renewed for two more years by president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

However, his contract was set to expire at the end of this month, who has been instrumental in leading key investigations and implementing reforms to enhance Uganda’s criminal justice system.

Since his appointment in January 2022, AIGP Magambo has played a key role in modernising CID operations, tackling organised crime, and improving investigative efficiency within the Uganda Police Force.

Furthermore, Magambo stated in a post on X, “Your Excellency, @KagutaMuseveni, I am deeply honoured and humbled by your decision to renew my contract as Director CID. My colleagues and I, the CID, appreciate your trust and confidence in our ability to contribute to the strategic security and prosperity of our people.”.

He also acknowledged the guidance of Minister Kahinda Otafiire and the Inspector General of Police, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening CID operations and ensuring justice and security across the country.

“I also wish to thank our Minister Kahinda Otafiire and the IGP for the leadership and guidance, as we strive to build a CID that will serve our people for many years,” he noted.

In conclusion, his contract renewal is seen as a strong endorsement of his leadership as the government continues efforts to bolster Uganda’s security and law enforcement institutions.
