Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. will be out of action for six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury to his right leg.

The forward has sustained a torn right hamstring, as confirmed by the club, and is expected to be out for several weeks owing to the time of recovery, which is likely to be October.

Vinicius left the pitch after 16 minutes into their 1-0 away win on Friday against Celta Vigo, although early implications showed that it was just a slight injury. After a proper medical checkup on Monday, he was diagnosed with a torn hamstring.

With the injury, he will be out of action this weekend when the club takes on fellow La Liga club Getafe and also Brazil’s matches in the upcoming international break this September.

He is also likely to miss a difficult home league game against Real Sociedad and the Madrid Derby away to Atletico de Madrid.

They have already sold their top strikers, Benzema, Marcos Asensio, and Mariano Diaz, which slightly leaves them short of strikers, leaving just Joselu and Rodrygo as top forwards.

However, Jude Bellingham has been stepping up this season, as he already has four goals in three matches.

Following the test carried out on Vini Jr. by Real Madrid medical services, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle. His progress will be monitored.

Midfielders Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy are in the recovery process from muscle injuries.

In conclusion, the 23-year-old is the latest player to be injured alongside their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and their top defender Eder Militao, who have been out throughout the season with ACL injuries.
