The spokesperson of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces has confirmed the attack, stating that investigations have kicked off.
“There was an ambush at a public bus at Nyerbede, but we lack accurate information about the identity of the attackers and how many were injured or killed,” Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai said.
Pictures taken from the scene showed the bus engulfed in flames.

The bus was reportedly set ablaze during the ambush.
Another source published what was described as the bus’s passenger manifest, which had several Ugandan names.
In conclusion, after the investigations, Lul promised to keep the public informed.
