Kampala — Police in Kampala have arrested a suspected robber and recovered Shs21 million believed to have been stolen during a robbery incident in the city.
The suspect was arrested during a security operation conducted after a victim reported being attacked and robbed by a group of assailants within Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, detectives launched investigations immediately after receiving the complaint, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of one of the suspects.

Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said officers recovered Shs21 million in cash during a search conducted at the time of arrest.
“The recovered money is suspected to be part of the funds stolen during the robbery. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” Owoyesigyire said.
Police believe the suspect worked with other accomplices who are still at large.
Authorities say the suspect is currently being held at a police station in Kampala as detectives continue gathering evidence to support prosecution.
Police have since intensified operations to dismantle criminal gangs involved in robbery within the city.
The suspect is expected to appear in court and defend himself about the incident once investigations are concluded.
