KAMPALA — Uganda is mourning the death of Moses Karangwa Kaliisa, the senior presidential advisor on special duties and former NRM chairperson for the Central Region, who has passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained in a road accident.
Sources close to the family and ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) officials confirmed his death on Sunday after he reportedly battled serious injuries following the crash.
Kaliisa was a prominent figure within the NRM structures, particularly in Central Uganda, where he played a key role in party mobilization and political coordination for several years.

His death has triggered an outpouring of grief from political leaders, supporters, and members of the ruling party, many describing him as a loyal and dedicated servant of the NRM and government.

At the time of filing this report, authorities had not yet released detailed information regarding the circumstances of the accident.
Funeral and burial arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family and government officials in the coming hours.
