Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, rallies Sheema people to practice vegetable growing business in order to generate immediate income.
Nabanja said this on Saturday, June 24, 2023, while presiding over the belated International Women’s Day for Sheema District held at Sheema main stadium in Kabwohe division, Sheema Municipality.
However, the Premier said that since the people of Sheema have inadequate land, they should now start growing crops like onions, Cabbages, and other vegetables, which take little time to be harvested and generate income.
At the same function, a total of about Ugx 40 million was raised under the Sheema Women Development Forum (SWODEF) to help boost women’s income-generating projects.
Meanwhile, Honorable Rosemary Nyakikongoro, the Sheema woman Member of Parliament who was also the host, said the raised money is to help with empowering women projects in the District.
Nyakikongoro added that they will start mobilizing women to start income-generating activities at the parish level that would alleviate their households from poverty.
The promotion of the vegetable growing business by the Sheema people helps them eradicate poverty in their area.
In conclusion, we thank the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, Nabanja, for showing a great development gesture to the Sheema leaders.
