Mukono, Uganda — April 22, 2026 — A medical professional has been killed in a suspected robbery attack at his home in Seeta, Mukono District, raising fresh concerns over growing insecurity in the area.
The victim, a radiography specialist, was reportedly attacked by unknown assailants who are believed to have broken into his residence during the night. The attackers allegedly fatally assaulted him before fleeing with personal belongings, including a laptop and mobile phone.
Attack and Discovery
Neighbors reported hearing unusual movements during the night, but the severity of the incident only became clear the following morning when the victim was found unresponsive inside his home. Authorities were immediately notified, prompting a swift response from police.
Police Investigation
Police in Mukono have confirmed the incident and launched investigations into the suspected robbery and killing. Officers say they are pursuing leads, with preliminary findings suggesting the attackers may have used a motorcycle to escape.
A police spokesperson said forensic teams have since examined the scene and collected evidence to support ongoing inquiries.
Rising Security Concerns
The killing has sparked fear among residents, many of whom say violent crime and robbery cases have been increasing in recent weeks. Community members are now calling for intensified security patrols, particularly at night.
“This is worrying. We no longer feel safe in our homes,” one resident said.

Police have urged members of the public to share any information that could help identify and arrest the suspects, as efforts to bring those responsible to justice continue.
