Charles Peter Mayiga is going to celebrate his 10th anniversary as the katikiro of Buganda kingdom this Friday.
He shared this information during his press conference in the ‘bulange emengo’, Kampala.
He went on to share his achievements he has done in the Buganda kingdom for example the completion of the Buganda commercial building known as the ‘Masengele’ which had taken over 40 years.
“We used the etofali money we collected from the people who wished the Buganda kingdom well to cmplete the commercial building (masengele), “. He added
Mayiga told the media that “Most importantly, my actions and words have impacted a number of lives; people have been able to educate their children, and others have engaged in commercial agri-businesses and other businesses because of the knowledge I have shared on various occasions.”.
In Mayiga’s leadership, many youth have been encouraged to join the politics for example H. E Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu.
He added by saying : “The Buganda Kingdom held a mega birthday run as one of the Kingdom’s efforts to fight against HIV/Aids, and at least 150, 000 people are said to have turned up for the marathon that was flagged of by Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, “.
Its now evidenced that the Buganda people are now closer to the their king in away that when he calls for the public attention , they respond.
He has beeen organising activities like Kabaka’s run, Masaza and clan tournament where by people participated and it has helped the public to know more about the Buganda kingdom through these activities.
