Kampala, Uganda — April 28, 2026 — Court proceedings in the Kivumbi terrorism case were halted on Tuesday after the suspects rejected allegations presented by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
During the hearing, the accused persons reportedly distanced themselves from key allegations, challenging the prosecution’s position and forcing a temporary pause in the case.
The development marks another setback to the high-profile matter, which has experienced several delays in recent months due to legal and procedural issues.

DPP Response Expected

Legal experts note that such disputes can significantly slow down proceedings, especially in complex terrorism cases where evidence and procedural compliance are heavily scrutinized.
Meanwhile, the case against the NUP Deputy President, Buganda region continues to attract public attention in Kampala’s legal circles
Next Court Step
The court is expected to set a new hearing date as both the prosecution and defense prepare for the next stage of the proceedings.
