Jowy Landa Narrowly Escapes Thugs’ Attack After Busia Show

Ugandan singer Jowy Landa has revealed how she and her team narrowly escaped a frightening attack by suspected thugs while returning from a performance in Busia.

The singer, whose real name is Joan Namugerwa, shared details of the incident on X, saying their vehicle came under attack as they travelled back from the show.

According to Jowy, the attackers threw heavy pavers at their vehicle, with one of the stones hitting the area around the front passenger seat next to the driver.

Fortunately, the window did not break, and nobody in the vehicle was injured.

Jowy Landa Recalls Frightening Attack

Jowy said her manager quickly instructed the driver to keep moving after the attackers began throwing the stones at their vehicle.

She described the incident as disturbing and questioned the actions of the suspected thieves.

The singer did not reveal the exact location where the attack happened or provide further details about the identities of those responsible.

The incident has nevertheless highlighted the dangers faced by motorists and travellers, particularly those using roads at night.

Jowy and her team were fortunate to escape without injuries after deciding to keep driving instead of stopping at the scene.

Incident comes after David Owori’s death

The frightening experience comes just hours after the reported death of SC Villa captain David Owori, who was reportedly attacked by suspected robbers using pavers while returning home at night in Makindye.

Owori’s death has also raised concerns about the safety of people travelling at night, particularly in areas where motorists may be vulnerable to roadside attacks.
