Moses Kawooya, the Ssanyu African Music and Dramatic Society (SAMADS) pioneer has passed away at the age of 65. The news of his death broke the internet on Thursday night; however, his cause of death at that time was not revealed. The death of Moses Kawooya has left a huge gap in the growing Ugandan entertainment industry.
However, a close family source revealed that the dancer’s taxi transportation business was affected so much that even it developed mechanical problems, which he failed to fix due to a shortage of finances.
According to Uncovered Ug credible news sources, Kawooya passed away due to a long illness he has been battling with since the beginning of the year 2023.

Furthermore, the dancer’s health deteriorated after the Pearl of Africa was hit by the COVID-19 global pandemic. This therefore meant that he had to stop doing performances, thus not making any money during that period.
Many stakeholder groups in Uganda’s entertainment industry have sent their condolence messages to the family of the late Moses Kawooya.
Additionally, we have been told that he tried reaching out for help from the president of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, but he did not receive a single penny.
In conclusion, the legendary entertainer rose to fame because of his impressive dance moves and because he used his belly to drive crowds crazy during his stage performances at different events across the country.
