Nigerian international and Barcelona female team forward Asisat Oshoala is nominated in the female category for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

Asisat Oshoala gets a second nomination as France Football releases the full list of candidates for the female category.

Following the release of the 30-man shortlist for the women’s Ballon d’Or award, the Super Falcons star has again made the cut.

This category was introduced in the Ballon d’Or award in 2018 as the women’s counterpart to today’s men’s award.

However, this year’s award nominees are: Khadija Shaw, Mapi Leon, Mary EPs, Asisat Oshoala, Wendie Renard, Katie McCabe, Jill Roord, Sam Kerr, Linda Caicedo, Kadidiaotu Diani, Alba Redondo, Rachel Daly, Fridolina Rolfo, Georgia Stanway, Olga Ramona, Hayley Roso, Aitana Bonmati, etc.

Asisat Oshoala’s outstanding performances:
The Super Falcons star has been nominated for the award for the second consecutive year in a row.

Oshoala experienced a successful run with her club last season and was among the Falcons squad that was close to making history at the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup.

She won the Italian League and the UEFA Champions League in the female category with her club.

Also reaching the round of sixteen with the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the just concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup, as they were unbeaten in regular play in the tournament.

The five-time women’s African footballer of the year also had an incredible individual season, regardless of her injury struggles.

Netted 21 goals for Barcelona in the Spanish league, emerging as the top goalscorer, and five in the Champions League.

In conclusion, Asisat won a historic treble of the Primera Division title, the Supercopa Espana de Femenina, and the Champions League with her club.
