LC1 Chairman in Namisindwa Leads Robbery of Two Businessmen
There was shock at Bubutu town council in Namisindwa district as an LC1 chairperson and other unknown gunmen raided the homes of two businessmen last night and made off with Shs10 million.
According to Samuel Wabuti, one of the area residents, on the night of April 9, 2024, people with guns raided a shop belonging to Kibeti Mutuma and stole 7 million shillings.
He adds that after, they raided another shop belonging to Paulo Manawa and stole three million shillings with all shop property.

Moses Mutambo, the LCIII Chairperson of Bubutu Town Council, says that after locals heard noise, they alerted the police of Bubutu police station, but the thugs took off.
He says that today morning, 10th April, police brought a sniffer dog that went direct to Fred Masika’s home, the LCI chairperson of Bubutu TC cell but they got when he had disappeared after hearing that police was bringing a dog.
The LCIII says that on several occasions, Mutuma has been accused by locals in the area of being one of the suspected thugs, and when arrested, he was released by police without trial.
Imran Muluga, the Resident District Commissioner of Namisindwa, says that the number of businesses in the subcounties of Bubutu town council, Bubutu subcounty, and Lwakhakha town is on the rise. Additionally, when they searched Masika’s house, they found exhibits that prove that he has been stealing.
In conclusion, Muluga also says that last month, Masika was again involved in the theft of a cow belonging to one of his residents, pleaded guilty, and then compensated the owner with one million shillings.
