Dr. Kizza Besigye To Fight For Uganda’s Freedom Until last Breath
Former FDC President, Dr. Kizza Besigye, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the fight for Uganda’s freedom, declaring that he will persist until his last breath. Despite the inevitable challenges ahead, he remains steadfast in his belief that genuine change can be achieved without resorting to violence.
Dr. Besigye, once an ally of President Museveni in the struggle for power, has since diverged from his former path, citing a disconnect with the current leadership. Despite facing defeat in four presidential campaigns, he has endured arrests, torture, and persecution, yet his spirit remains unbroken.
Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Besigye emphasizes the importance of employing peaceful means in the pursuit of change. He acknowledges the potential for bloodshed but maintains that true progress lies in the triumph of unarmed resistance over armed oppression.

“The conflict we face is between those armed and those unarmed,” Dr. Besigye asserts. “Our mission is to demonstrate the power of the unarmed to overcome those with guns.”
Amidst his quest for liberation, Dr. Besigye finds himself embroiled in internal strife within the FDC, accused by former party leaders of sowing discord. Despite this, his focus remains resolutely on the larger struggle for a brighter future for Uganda.
As divisions emerge within the opposition, Dr. Besigye’s unwavering dedication to his principles serves as a beacon of hope. In his pursuit of freedom, he stands as a symbol of resilience and perseverance, inspiring others to join him in the noble pursuit of a better tomorrow.
