After goalkeeper Courtois ACL injury on Wednesday, Eder Militao is now the second player to sustain the same injury.
The defender sustained an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his knee and will be out of the squad for a long time.

The club confirmed to the media:
After the test carried out on our player Eder Militao, he has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The player will be undergoing surgery in the coming days.

However, Militao was injured when he overextended his knee early in the second half of Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Atletico Bilbao in their first match of the New La Liga Season. The 25-year-old defender was seen in tears as he was helped off the pitch by the medical team. Eder could be sidelined for several months, just like their goalkeeper.

“Remember Thibaut Courtois, who also required surgery for his ACL injury during training on Thursday”.

With Militao out with an injury, the center backs are only left with three fit players: Nacho, David Alaba, and Anthony Rudiger. The three will have to rotate and share minutes over the next few months, in which Eder will not be fit to participate. Real Madrid are now two men short in the goalkeeping department and also in the defense unit.

In conclusion, The possibility of exploring the market for players to fill those vacancies, especially in the goalkeeping department, is of high importance now.
