Uganda Airlines is set to launch its inaugural direct flights to the United Kingdom on Sunday, May 18, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion strategy.
The new route will connect Entebbe International Airport to London Gatwick Airport with four weekly non-stop flights, re-establishing a direct air link between Uganda and the UK after nearly a decade when British Airways stopped its direct flights between Uganda and London.
The flights will be operated using Uganda Airlines’ Airbus A330-800neo aircraft, offering a three-class configuration with 20 business class, 28 premium economy, and 210 economy seats, an expansion into the European market that is expected to bolster trade, tourism, and investment opportunities between the two nations.
