Yesterday, Tuesday, 28th October, it was bad news coming from the NUP, where security forces raided a hotel in Lira City where Ugandan presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine, was resting.
Eyewitnesses told Uncovered Ug news reporters that at around 8pm officers from the Field Force Unit, led by Moses Mukiibi, arrived at the Lira City Hotel and began knocking on room doors in what was described as a search operation.
According to credible sources, the officers were reportedly searching for two individuals: Geofrey Onzima, also known as Tower, and Natumanya Andrew, known as Ninye Tabz.

Furthermore, in a live broadcast on TikTok, Mr. Kyagulanyi, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party, accused police of breaking into rooms without stating their intentions.
“They are breaking into each of the rooms without revealing their actual purpose,” he said during the stream.
The operation reportedly began shortly after two police vehicles arrived near Armaflex Hotel before heading to Lira City Hotel. Shortly after, Mr. Tabz posted on X, formerly Twitter:
“BREAKING: Police are now breaking into the hotel where Bobi Wine is residing in Lira. The receptionist has been arrested, and they’re knocking on every room. They’re commanded by FFU’s Mukiibi with a number of plain-clothed operatives, and their car number plates are covered!”
The Uganda Police Force has not yet issued an official statement regarding the raid or the reported arrests.
In conclusion, NUP sources also stated that police had earlier arrested around 15 of their colleagues and seized one of the ‘drones’ (vans) in Mr. Kyagulanyi’s convoy.
