The Premier League action on Sunday featured four matches, including Manchester United’s meeting with Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
The 2026/27 Premier League season continues today, Sunday, August 30, with four matches scheduled as clubs look to strengthen their positions early in the campaign.
Three matches were played at 2:00pm UK time, before Manchester United hosted Ipswich Town in the day’s final Premier League fixture at 4:30pm UK time.

Premier League results from Saturday
Four Premier League matches were played on Saturday, August 29.
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest at Anfield. Alexander Isak and Victor Muñoz scored for Liverpool after Forest had taken the lead, with Muñoz’s late goal rescuing a point for the Reds.
Newcastle United enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, while Hull City edged Coventry City 1-0.
Bournemouth and Everton shared the points after a 1-1 draw, with James Tarkowski scoring a stoppage-time equaliser for Everton.
Premier League Results from the 4pm Games
The three afternoon Premier League matches have now finished, with Chelsea claiming a convincing victory while Leeds United and Brentford shared the points and Sunderland secured a narrow win.
Chelsea 4-3 Brighton
Chelsea produced the biggest result of the afternoon, beating Brighton 4-3 at Stamford Bridge.
Roméo Lavia, Pedro Neto, João Pedro and Cole Palmer scored for Chelsea, while Brighton got their goals through Pascal Gross, Malick Yalcouyé and an own goal.
The victory gives Chelsea another important three points early in the Premier League season.
Leeds United 1-1 Brentford
Leeds United and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
Brentford took the lead through Kevin Schade before Leeds responded late in the match through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Both teams therefore take a point from an entertaining contest.
Sunderland 1-0 Fulham
Sunderland secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Fulham at the Stadium of Light.
Wilson Isidor scored the decisive goal to give Sunderland all three points.
Manchester United 5-2 Ipswich Town — Full Time
Manchester United came from behind to beat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford and secure their first Premier League victory of the 2026/27 season.
Ipswich took the lead through Leif Davis in the first half, but Bruno Fernandes equalised before the break.
United then took control after half-time, with a goal that put the hosts ahead before Fernandes converted a penalty to make it 3-1.
Fernandes completed his hat-trick with another goal before Bryan Mbeumo added United’s fifth. Chuba Akpom scored a late consolation for Ipswich.
The victory gives Manchester United their first three points of the new Premier League campaign, while Bruno Fernandes was the standout performer with three goals.
