The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), has embarked on the process of expanding water supply to Kihihi Town Council and surrounding areas by redeveloping Mpangago and Matanda Water Sources in Kanungu District.
This was disclosed by Eng Denis Taremwa, the project manager of the coming projects under the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, which will see new tanks constructed, pipes laid, and electricity extended to Matanda Water Source in Kihihi Sub County, which will increase water supply in Kanungu District.
Eng Taremwa told uncoveredug reporters yesterday, after a pre-bidding and site visit by potential contractors, that the redevelopment is expected to cost UGX 9 billion and to commence in July, when the procurement process is completed and the bid contract is awarded to the contractor.

In conclusion, the newly developed water supply from Mpangango and Matanda will serve over 10,000 residents, and the issue of water shortages in Kihihi Town Council and surrounding areas will be minimized.
