For the 2023 edition of King of the Mic, Ugandan emcee Edwin Katamba, widely known as MC Kats, has brought together a stellar lineup of entertainers in what is rumored to be his farewell show. Over the past few years, MC Kats’ ‘King of the Mic’ event has become one of the most eagerly anticipated shows in Uganda, typically taking place towards the year’s end.
This year, the whispers surrounding MC Kats suggest that he is contemplating retirement from emceeing, with the intention of passing the torch to a new generation of emcees. Unsurprisingly, this revelation has stirred a variety of reactions as his fans grapple with the idea of his departure from the stage.
In December, MC Kats, a prominent figure in the Ugandan entertainment scene and NBS TV presenter, is planning a two-day concert titled ‘The Last Dance.’ The event is scheduled to run from the 2nd to the 3rd of December at the exquisite Nexus Lounge in Najeera.
