Kamuli, Uganda — April 11, 2026 — Police have confirmed that four people have died following a fatal road accident involving a sugarcane-loaded truck and a motorcycle along the Kamuli–Namasagali Road.
The accident occurred in Bulunda Village when a Fuso Fighter truck, registration number UAE 983F, reportedly overturned onto a Bajaj motorcycle, registration number UDL 411N, killing all four occupants on the spot.
Uncovered UG news reporters have identified the deceased as Mudumba Grace, the motorcycle rider and a resident of Naibowa in Butansi Sub-county; Nanzala Lydia, 38, also of Naibowa; Makayi Stephen, 40, a resident of Busiba Cell in Southern Division, Kamuli Municipality; and Balinaine Charles, 42, from Busiba Cell in Kamuli Municipality.

According to eyewitnesses, both the truck and the motorcycle were traveling in the same direction from Namasagali towards Kamuli Town at the time of the accident. A Sinotruck lorry was reportedly approaching from the opposite direction, which may have contributed to the incident.

Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson SSP Samson Lubega confirmed the accident and cautioned motorists against dangerous road maneuvers, especially when driving heavy vehicles.
“Drivers must avoid sudden swerving, particularly on narrow roads, as it can easily lead to loss of control and fatal consequences,” Lubega said. “Instead, they should reduce speed gradually and brake safely when faced with oncoming traffic.”
The bodies of the victims were taken to the mortuary as investigations into the crash continue. Police have once again called on drivers, especially those operating heavy trucks, to prioritize road safety to avoid further loss of life on Uganda’s roads.
