News reaching our news desk confirms that an inmate prisoner who was remanded for murdering his mother has also killed a fellow prisoner at Masindi Government Prison.
According to a press statement issued today, 4th August, 2025, by the Prisons Service Spokesperson, SCP Frank Baine, the incident happened on Sunday, 3rd August, 2025, at approximately 4:00AM.
Baine says the prisoner, Anatoli Irumba, who was charged with the murder of his mother, assaulted convicted prisoner Moses Tuhame, who was charged with aggravated defilement, causing fatal injuries.

Furthermore, he says the assault took place at the TB Isolation Ward, where both were staying.
Baines told Uncovered Ug news reporters that “After the attack, the victim was rushed to Masindi Hospital but passed on a few hours later.”

He says police have already taken over the matter and that the body will be handed over to the relatives for burial after a postmortem examination.
Uncovered Ug condemns such acts done and also strengthens the family for the deceased one.
In conclusion, he encourages the government to direct the prisoners officers to isolate these prisoners who do such big crimes; it will help to reduce such incidences.
