Authorities from the government have confirmed the death of a senior government official known as Hajjat Nusula Nabukalu, who has been the deputy RDC of Budaka.
The accident occurred on the Jinja-Iganga highway at around 5 pm on Sunday evening, which almost left her driver to die instantly.
The accident occurred near Kakira when the vehicle of Ms. Nabukalu was travelling in, a white Toyota Double Cabin with registration number UG 4803C, collided head-on with a trailer, registration number KDH 025V.
Hajjat Nusula Nabukalu’s death has been confirmed by local authorities, who have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The Jinja-Iganga highway is a major road that connects the eastern part of Uganda to Kampala. Many people have died on that highway, so the government should take serious measures to renovate the road very well to reduce the accident rates. .
Road accidents are a major concern in Uganda, where poor road infrastructures and reckless driving have contributed to a high number of accidents.
