News reaching our platform confirms that renowned events promoter Biggie Events, real name Mariam Mutakubwa, is finally out of jail after spending over a week there, following cases linked to an unsettled UGX 70m loan.
The promoter acquired the loan of UGX 70 million from David Amooti Tumusiime, which she used to invest in one of her events.
The borrowed money didn’t return the proceeds as expected; hence, the payment plan with the money lender wasn’t fulfilled, which led to her arrest.

Furthermore, this prompted the money lender to seek legal action, and Biggie was dragged to court before being remanded to Luzira prison to serve a six-month sentence.
Following her imprisonment, several notable figures, including singers Spice Diana and Ameria Nambala, came to her rescue, pledging funds to help cover the promoter’s loan.
The money lender was subsequently engaged, reached an agreement, and a portion of the loan was paid before Biggie Events reclaimed her freedom yesterday evening.
Biggie expressed gratitude to fellow promoters, artists, family, and fans, who stood by her during this challenging situation.
In conclusion, here at our platform, we encourage both parties to come as one because they all need one another for the betterment of the music industry.
