Carney Chukwuemeka Is Out For 6 Weeks After Knee Injury
Carney Chukwuemeka will be out of the squad for at least six weeks after sustaining an injury on Sunday during Chelsea’s defeat to West Ham.
The £20 million summer window signing from Aston Villa sustained the injury immediately after he netted Chelsea’s equalizer in the game.
The 19-year-old sustained the knee injury after scoring Chelsea’s only goal in the match against West Ham.
After successful surgery on Monday, he will be out of action for Chelsea, adding to the list of injured players.
Confirming Chukwuemeka’s surgery, Chelsea reveals that the player will begin rehabilitation working with the club’s medical department at their Cobham training facility.
The teenager, who has been flourishing under Pochettino at the start of the new Premier League season,scored his first senior goal for Chelsea on Sunday.
Chukwuemeka, who had undergone the same injury surgery previously, will be sidelined for at least six months.
Chelsea’s list of senior players injured includes captain James Reece, Trevor Chalobah, Christopher Nkunku, and Wesley Fofana.

Carney Chukwuemeka sustained an injury to his left knee during our game against West Ham United on Sunday.
Last night, Carney underwent surgery and will now begin his recovery at our training facility.
Carney Chukwuemeka’s career so far:
He joined the Aston Villa Academy from the Northampton Town Academy in March 2016 and signed his first professional contract with Villa in 2020.
On August 2, 2022, last year, Chelsea and Aston Villa reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of the player to Chelsea, subject to the player agreeing on personal terms and undergoing a medical.
On August 4, Chelsea confirmed the signing of the player on a six-year contract.
On Sunday, Chukwuemeka scored his first senior goal for Chelsea in their 3-1 defeat to West Ham.
