The task force which was chose last year in June has been monitoring the establishments for the University and they have said they are likely to begin the academic year of 2023 /2024 in August.
We interacted with Professor Tabuti who leads the committee thats was chose to ensure that the University opeartes again he told us that ” The taskforce has already reviewed the programmes that existed at the university at the time it was closed, which deal with technological innovation and value chain management,”.
The Committee is working hard to ensure that the requirements for the university are fulfilled.
The academic programmes that have been selected are Health, business management, agricultural sciences and theology.
The above programs will be available at the University in August but with time, we shall have to introduce in the engineering programs to ensure that the engineers come from busoga region.
We interacted with the people around the University and they told us that ” we are happy that our university is going to operate again and our students are going to study again at a cheap price”.
